How to Tighten Your Skin Without Surgery

On Tuesday I will turn 48 years old and I totally embrace my age! My skin is definitely changing and I am always looking for the most natural anti-aging remedies that I can find. To keep my skin hydrated I like to use natural oils. My favorites are Vitamin E Oil, Coconut Oil, Almond Oil and Jojoba Oil. I mix them all together and use them on my face every day. I still have not decided if I will ever have any injections, fillers, or medical procedures to reverse the signs of aging. I am keeping my options open and I do like to read up on the what methods are available.

Skin Tightening Options
Some of the most simple and inexpensive ways to treat minor wrinkles is at home with creams, lotions, or even hand-held devices that emit intense pulsed light (IPL devices). Another option is ultrasound treatment or radiofrequency treatment. The sound waves simply penetrate into the skin's lower layers and kick start natural healing processes, such as collagen production.

One of the most advanced non-surgical option for wrinkles, age spots, and acne marks, is laser skin tightening using medical lasers.

Pros and Cons of Tightening Your Skin with Lasers
Laser treatments have very few risks, however it may take weeks for the results to start to be visible on the surface of your skin. There is also a series of laser treatments that need to be performed in order to get your desired results. On the up side, there is no prolonged recovery or downtime.

Surgery is a quick way to tighten your skin and the results are almost immediate. This is usually a one time procedure but unfortunately, with any surgery, there are always risks. These include scarring, possible pain, and a more lengthy recovery.

Finding the Right Skin Tightening Clinic
When it comes to finding the right skincare clinic, there is no such thing as too much research. You really need to take the time to explore the history of the clinic and its staff. Check to see how long they have been in business and what certifications they have. Be sure to ask them a lot of questions so that you can figure out how well trained they are and gain a level of comfort with them. Once you feel totally comfortable with your choice of both the clinic and the specific procedure you want, you can confidently make your appointment.

I have personally not had any of these procedures on my face, however I did have bikini laser hair removal. That was very painful for me but I must say it was so worth it! Here are my top ten tips to stay looking young and healthy:

1. Get enough sleep
2. Eat healthy foods
3. Keep your stress level as low as possible
4. Stay hydrated
5. Don't smoke
6. Keep drinking alcohol to a minimum
