DIY HAIR GROWTH TREATMENT - For Eyebrows & Eyelashes too!!

This is a photo of my hair November 2014. For the first time in my life, my long thick hair became thin, brittle, and severely damaged. By January 2015, it was falling out and breaking off rapidly. There are many reasons why this can happen, however I wanted to try some natural remedies before I started worrying.

WHAT TO DO NOW...

#1 - Don't stress
It's only hair! I have been doing wig fittings for women with cancer for many years. These amazing women are fighting for their lives, and dealing with no hair, no eyebrows, and no eyelashes! Stay Positive You Are Beautiful XO

#2 - Cut Your Hair
Once your hair starts breaking it looks ratty and will continue to split up the hair shaft. When you cut off the damage, your hair will look thicker and healthier. It's not worth walking around with hair that looks like broken straw just to keep the length. Beautiful hair is not about how long it is, it's about how healthy it is :-)

I started trimming my hair little by little. Finally I decided to give it a major cut because it was just too damaged. I cut all the way up to the shortest piece of hair that had broken off. I am so glad that I cut it!! My hair instantly looked thicker and so much healthier.

#3 - Faithfully Apply Hair Growth Treatment

I got this handy little 5oz. squirt bottle free with my purchase of Tropic Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil 8oz with an Applicator, Big Sale!! - Safe Pet Bottle Packaing -  Next I used Mazola 100% Natural Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 17 Ounce  and Nature's Way Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil, 32-Ounce  Before adding the coconut oil, melt it for a few seconds in the microwave until it becomes liquid. Shake the squirt bottle until mixed thoroughly.

Apply the Hair Growth Treatment at night before you go to bed. Squirt a small amount onto your scalp and massage gently until your entire scalp is covered. Pay special attention to thinning areas. Then comb through your hair with a large tooth comb. Add more to the ends as needed. Your hair does not need to be soaked, just a thin layer is plenty.

I then put my hair in a low bun using a scrunchie and wrap my head in a tee-shirt.
In the morning, wash & condition as normal.

You can also use a T-shirt without cutting it and just tie the sleeves.

Making a do-rag will fit better and be less bulky.

You can purchase 100% cotton do-rags HERE

Another amazing benefit of this DIY Hair Growth Treatment is that it works miracles on eyebrows and eyelashes too!! Before I go to bed I use a Q-tip and rub the mixture directly onto my eyelashes and eyebrows. I am totally amazed how much thicker and longer the hair is now!! My daughter even noticed yesterday without me saying anything and I had zero makeup on! I just made a bottle for her :-)

HEALTHY HAIR RECAP...

** Don't stress! Stress can actually be the reason that you are losing your hair in the first place.

** Cut off your damaged hair.

** Only wash your hair every 2-3 days and use your DIY Hair Growth Treatment every night before washing (approx 2x week). My hair felt and looked better after the first treatment. I noticed increased growth and thickness after 2 weeks and now 2 months later, the results are incredible!!! I have my hair back again :-)

** Always use a leave-in conditioner even on the days that you don't wash. Just apply to the ends of dry hair. My Favorites are - Pureology Color Fanatic 21Suave Moroccon Styling OilSmooth n Shine Polisher, Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon.

** Limit the use of heated styling tools and always use Heat Protector.

** If you color your hair, use a non-chemical Root Touch Up in between coloring so you don't have to color as often. I use SABBIA Light Golden Brown.

** Get a humidifier if the air is dry and the heat is on. This is the exact one that I bought and I love it!

** Nourish your body from the inside out by eating healthy and taking vitamins. You can see the daily vitamins that I take here.

** See your doctor if you feel that your hair loss could be a medical condition.

Have a great day XO

  2. Hi, The castor oil will not darken your hair. You can use a clarifying shampoo to wash it out to make sure there is no residue left over :-)

  5. My hair started thinking a lot when I turned 40. At 43 I had a hysterectomy and the texture of my hair became awful. I feel like the loss of hair has aged me soooo much and I want to try this mixture, but I'm afraid of putting something oily like this in it since it's so thinned and fragile. I have this fear that when I go to wash it out, it will just pull a lot of hair out with it since it's heavy. Has anyone with this problem tried oils and had good results?
