On November 1, 2015 (the day of my 47th birthday) Ransom and I got married in our new home. We have been going non-stop and loving every minute of joining our lives together. Not only did we plan a wedding in three weeks, we also packed and moved out of two separate apartments, and moved into our home together. We unpacked, painted, and organized just in time for our wedding day!
The most exciting event during the past few weeks was being there when our granddaughter was born! Paityn came into the world on October 29th at 10:18PM - 6lb. 15oz. Ransom and I were at the hospital for her birth. My daughter Nicole was still feeling exhausted on our wedding day, so the next best thing was to facetime her into the ceremony. We were facetiming as I was getting ready doing my hair and makeup before the ceremony. It was so nice to feel like she was with me! We had our Ipad set up on the table so that she got to see us get married real-time.
We went shopping for my wedding outfit two days before we got married! Yes it was totally cutting it close but I was feeling discouraged that I couldn't wear the form fitting dress that I had envisioned. I was actually putting it off because I needed to find a way to camouflage my belly. No I am not pregnant but I look like I am LOL. I need to have surgery because of a previous hernia operation. The mesh has invaginated through my abdominal wall and is touching my intestines. As a result I am dealing with pain and swelling. The jacket worked like a charm to cover my belly bump! I admit I was pouting, but my amazing husband was so supportive telling me how beautiful I looked. (I'm sure that he just wanted to get out of the mall LOL). I got my entire outfit from Express.
We both went and got manicures the night before our wedding :-)
I am so in love with my ring! It is my November birthstone - 3 1/8ct. Citrine quartz gemstone with diamond bands. It also represents the month that we got married XO.
Citrine is a quartz gemstone found in golden shades ranging from pale yellow to deep brownish orange. This gem is also known as “healing quartz,” because legend has it that citrine promotes vitality and energy in whomever wears it. And according to the Chinese feng shui philosophy, citrine creates wealth and abundance. - brilliantearth.com
We had so much help from our wonderful family and friends to make our special day absolutely perfect!
I printed out labels for water bottles on a regular piece of copy paper. I cut them into strips with my cutting board and taped them to each bottle. I then made name tags and attached them to bags of chocolate kisses for each place setting.
This is the most gorgeous disposable dinner set!!! It even looks better in person.

Our friend Angela is the most kind, thoughtful, and generous person that I have ever met. She typed up a complete list of everything that we needed to set up and feed forty people. She took a day off from work to cook and come to our house the day before our wedding. She had food cooking all night and all day, and kept the food flowing until the last person left our home.
Thank you so much Angela!!! Everything was flawless because of you XOXO!
Holding back the tears! All of our dreams are coming true. I was so overwhelmed with emotion.
There was so much love and amazing energy in our new home.

After looking through all of the beautiful cards that everyone gave us, I decided to glue them into the guest book. Now we have them all in one place and can easily read them any time we want :-)

Our Wedding Vows
Thank you all for joining us today to celebrate Ransom and Lisa
joining their lives together. Your presence has filled their home with love and
warmth, and your support is greatly appreciated. Having you all here has truly
made this special day complete.
At a time of year when many
are often thinking of the end of warm weather and the coming cold, we are here
today to celebrate new beginnings, and the warmth of the declaration of love
between Ransom and Lisa and to acknowledge that love, as anything else we would
have for long, requires sustaining care and nurturing.
In
marriage, two people turn to each other in search of a greater fulfillment than
either can achieve alone. Marriage is a bold step, taken together, into an
unknown future. It is risking who we are for the sake of who we can be.
Ransom and Lisa had an undeniable connection from
the first time that they spoke. After their first six-hour phone conversation
they knew that they had something special. When it is time for soul mates to
meet, the Universe does not care how it will happen, it just does.
The most unexpected Tinder Dating Site was the
chosen portal for them to find each other. Lisa's profile said, “Trust in the
Universe, stranger things have happened.” After just minutes of signing up on
Tinder, Ransom swiped YES to Lisa's photo and Lisa swiped YES to Ransom. A
message then popped up YOU'RE A MATCH! Ransom was the first and only man that
sent Lisa a message. She responded and the rest is history. It was simply meant
to be and Ransom and Lisa are thankful every day for this incredible gift.
After their first date, they knew this was a once in a lifetime
connection. They realized that the events that had taken place throughout their
lives have led them both to this moment. Their bond allows them to be the best
version of themselves and to be true to who they are as they continue to grow
and learn all of life's lessons.
Ransom and Lisa both trust in the plan of the Universe. They are
not only committed to each other, but also in bettering themselves and to
helping others through what they have learned. Their deep passion and desire to
help others continues to grow stronger every day and will continue to be a
driving force in their lives.
Marriage is an act of faith and ever-deepening commitment, as well
as a loving union between a man and a woman. It has been described as the best
and the most important relationship that two people can share, the creation of
a single growing energy of spiritual life. Marriage is a lifelong unfolding of
loving kindness, backed by the will to make it last. There is no limit to the
knowing of another’s soul, and when you learn to love one person, you then grow
in love for all of humanity. In marriage, we give ourselves freely and
generously into the hands of the one we love and in doing so, each of us receives
the love and trust of the other as our most precious gift.
Happiness in marriage is not something that simply happens.
A good marriage is first created, then nurtured throughout the lives of
the couple. I offer the words of Wilferd A. Peterson in his poem,
“The Art of Marriage”:
The little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say, “I love you” at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end with the honeymoon,
it should continue through all the years.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is doing things for each other not in the attitude of duty or
sacrifice,
but in the spirit of joy.
It is speaking words of appreciation
and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo
or the wife to have the wings of an angel.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.
It is cultivating flexibility, patience,
understanding, and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere
in which each can grow.
It is not only marrying the right partner,
it is BEING the right partner.
This is “The Art of Marriage”.
EXCHANGING OF RINGS:
These rings that you will
now exchange are a symbol of all that you share in your hearts today, and all
of the promises that you will hold tightly to throughout your lives.
Their circle is constant and continuing, with no beginning and no
end, as that which will carry you both through your life together. The wedding
ring represents the undying love and the continually renewed vows of the
married couple. The circle is unity and strength.
HANDING OF RINGS:
I, RANSOM , take you LISA, in front of our friends and family
gathered here, to be the one true love of my life. I will cherish our time
together as the seasons of our lives change. Whatever the challenges that may
come our way, you will face them with me by your side. I will love you and give
you strength forever.

In the presence of God, family and friends, do you, RANSOM, offer
your solemn vow to be a faithful partner in your new life with LISA? Do
you promise to love LISA unconditionally, to support her in her goals, to honor
and respect her, to laugh with her and cry with her, for all of the days of
your life, until death do you part?
Ransom responds: I do.

your solemn vow to be a faithful partner in your new life with ransom? Do
you promise to love RANSOM unconditionally, to support him in his goals, to
honor and respect him, to laugh with him and cry with him, for all of the days

LISA responds: I do.
May the glory of God, which rests upon all who love you, bless you and keep
you, fill you with happiness and a gracious spirit. Despite all changes of
fortune and time, may that which is noble and lovely and true remain abundantly
in your hearts, giving you strength and gratitude for all that lies ahead.
Declaration of Marriage
RANSOM and LISA, in the presence of God and all that have joined
with you here today in this moment of joy, you have declared your deep love,
affection and commitment to each other. You have stated your wish to live
together, always open to a deeper, richer friendship and partnership. You
have formed your own union, based on respect and honor. Therefore, it is
my joy and honor to officially pronounce you as husband and wife. Ransom, you
may now kiss your bride.
